The CutRide Check In is an objective look at where a player stands right now- how their tools, performance, and résumé are likely being perceived at this stage.
After thorough assessment of player and family background, video, available metrics, and broader context, families leave with a clear understanding of where they are, what matters most, and what decisions deserve their attention.
-
Every Check In is informed by Wes’ firsthand experience navigating the full arc of the game - from high school through college and into the professional ranks.
This perspective isn’t theoretical or secondhand. It’s shaped by having made these decisions in real time, and understanding how timing, context, and perception actually impacts outcomes.
The Check In is designed to help families make the decisions they would make if they already knew how the story would unfold.
-
The CutRide Check In is not recruiting representation, placement, or outreach.
There are no promises of exposure, introductions, or offers. Instead, families gain clarity around how recruiting and development realistically fits into their current picture, and what factors will matter most as opportunities develop.
This independence allows the Check In to remain honest, objective, and focused on decision-making - not selling outcomes.
-
Most families don’t lack information - they’re overwhelmed by it.
The purpose of the Check In is to reduce noise - identifying what doesn’t need immediate attention, what can wait, and where focus will actually move the needle.
The result is clarity around what truly matters right now.
-
Comprehensive Player Intake and Parent Intake forms (click to download) gather context from both player and parent (individually), so the Check In starts with understanding, not assumptions.
Upon completion of the intake forms, please email them to Wes at wes@cutridebywb.com to schedule your Check In.
-
Wes will evaluate available game and training footage and any verifiable metrics to understand who the player is on the field, not just on a stat sheet.
-
Your player’s current level is assessed in context - how they fit and project relative to their peers, how they present themselves on and off the field, and how evaluators are likely interepreting what they see.
-
You’ll receive a written assessment outlining what matters most moving forward - what to prioritize, what can wait, and what’s just noise. This is not a checklist, but rather a focused guidance on the meaningful baseball decisions you will make in the next 6 to 18 months.
-
A 60-minute family call to walk through the assessment and any questions you may have, ensuring you walk away with direction and confidence.
To ensure Wes has time to answer all of your questions, please review the written assessment before the Check In call.
